Acrylic with Oil Glazing

Acrylic Paints:
- Uniform Blue (Americana)
- Neutral Grey (Americana)
- Light Foliage Green (Delta Ceramcoat)
- Dove Grey ( Folk Art)
Preparation and Supplies:
Seal surface if indicated. Make a color mix of Uniform Blue and Neutral Grey (2.1) ratio, Paint the surface with this blue/grey color. Apply a second coat if necessary. Tracing paper, worn white graphite paper, stylus, #6 flat or filbert brush. Use a Soft dome brush or other oil brush for the glazing technique.
Base coat:
As you trace on the pattern, note that the leaves are indicated and should be traced with "L" as not to be confused with petals. Petals are base coated in Dove Grey. This can be a thin coverage as the blue grey of the background will be helpful later when glazing with opaque white oil paint.
Leaves are base coated in Light Foliage Green.
Flower center is also Light Foliage Green.
Oil Paints:
Second page of instructions and Oil Glazing technique demonstration will be given at the March 2010 CACF meeting. Bring an assortment of Oil paint brushes if you have them, (#4, 6,8 filbert and brights, liner, and mop brush ). If not, you can use acrylic brushes and wash them out following use.
